AKA “Rod Bender”
I’ve owned one of these in almost perfect condition. No way in hell is it worth that much. Plus if it does not have the revised rods it’s a disaster waiting to happen.
I’ve owned 5 mk3’s and 4 mk4’s (I have a problem) never smelled that.
Sounds like you need a motorcycle.
What do you have against lesbians?
They all smell like VW’s. Crayon smell? I’ve never heard that one.
The Beetle was designed first, the Golf and Jetta came after thus the rear headroom problems in the Jetta. The interior plastics are the exact same as any of the the Mk4 Golf/Jetta. With the rearward seating position it’s actually the best handling of the generation (with suitable suspension).
Aherm, 70’s era Mercedes would like a word with you.
Let’s see your Evo hold together.
You know you’re fucked when your schwimmwinkel is out of alignment.
The spoiler on the ‘Raddo is effectively non functional. It’s the same as what was fitted to the other Mk3 Jetta.
I work heavily with the engineering side of both companies, that merger would make Krakatoa look paltry.
Chains are metal, they behave the the exact same way as springs until you finally put enough force on them where you have plastic (permanent) deformation at that point the stress strain relationship is no longer linear.
Really now, tell me know timing chains violate Hooke’s law.
Your maintenance ideals are positively ridiculous.
You’re comparing ancient technology, you’re behind the times. Read the articles I linked. Significant work has been bone in both materials and mechanical design to produce a belt drive system which will last the life of the engine while providing a quieter more efficient power transmission system. The 1 liter Eco…
You’re behind the times old man, none of the modern engineering data agrees with you. Here, look at all the reasons a belt is far superior to the old school chains. You’re arguing with SAE not me on this one.
Toof? The one and only!?
You seem to not understand that the stretch changes the pitch of the chain, that forces wear on the geartrain. Everything must be replaced, you can’t slap a replacement chain on there and call it good. A chain is best suited to complex routing applications where overall engine length is a major concern (Audi V8) and…
You mean a Merlin with a Bentley attached.
