Somewhat related, at least on the animals reacting part, my dog *hates* Doki Doki Literature Club. Whenever he notices the characters on screen he will do nothing except growl and bark at them, especially when they move. While hilarious, it is kind of scary because I’ve never heard him act like that to anything else.

The Night Is Short, Walk On Girl is such a good “sequel” to Tatami Galaxy. It blew me away with how creative, unique, and entertaining it was. Not including how colorfully beautiful it is. The whole I had no idea what was going to happen next and truly felt like the movie was taking me for a ride. 

I always say that the last episode of The Tatami Galaxy is one of the greatest pieces of animation I have ever seen. I rank it right up there with, for instance, anything Miyazaki ever directed (a high compliment, believe me).

Back then we thought that net dwellers, outfitted with ability to be anyone and create anything, would build something deep, profound and meaningful.
