It is acknowledged in doctrine that to all appearances the bread and wine is unchanged, but the “real presence” of Christ is in the Eucharist. Only the most fervent believe they are actually consuming blood and flesh.

You can’t simultaneously be “all for freedom of religion” and then launch into rants when you see people practicing a religion you don’t.
Anyone who thinks a corpse in a funeral parlor is a person is deeply confused as to what ‘person’ means in these debates.
That argument doesn’t work: corpses are just worthless lumps of flesh, but few would be okay with donating them to necrophiliacs and/or hungry people. Turns out sheer emotional charge isn’t a reliable indicator of the right to life.
Here are some things I never said:
As a pro choice agnostic, I can find you robustly naive with regard to religion and people of (any) faith.
maybe your diagnosis is off, doc
life begins at conception, which would make any abortion murder since it ends that life
Do you feel the same way about all religions that have similar, anachronistic views about women? Because none are particularly enlightened.
Catholicism provides for forgiveness, and that means something to believers
Your responses don’t make any sense.
Are you saying people should only care about things that affect them personally? That would be a weird thing to say.
Maybe so, but that wasn’t the point I was addressing. I was pointing out that you were wrong to say Catholicism regards abortion as just one sin among many other sins.
But abortion still incurs automatic excommunication, which means you’re wrong to say abortion is just one sin like any other according to Catholicism.
If you want to be a fool, that’s your choice. I’m not going to applaud you for your errors.
no, the point is it is a sin to do just about anything and that abortion falls under just about anything.
these days we’re all trying to be better to each other regardless of religion or cultural background
You don’t have to think it applies to you to think it’s some stupid bullshit.
From their perspective that a fetus is equal to a human, this is nice.
Catholicism allows for abortion in situations where it’s lifesaving
