I wonder if it shares entomology with the use of “pussy” for “cat”... and maybe it’s loosely related to the colloquial term “scaredy cat”.

You probably don’t realize that “pussy” in that context comes from pusillanimous, although I’d acknowledge too that most of its users don’t know that either.

I would like to point out that the origin of the insult pussy stems from pusillanimous and is not gendered.

While you have a valid point

The hyopcriticism makes my conscience scream.

The military is made up of my people.

Oh, I love those, I wish people could just fucking coexist.

Again, I am not expecting actors to be Sartre. Play Sartre? Sure, why not? Think like him? Nope. Never.

The Spanish teacher was the one with the reputation, but it was the health teacher who made me nervous.

So you mean, precisely the time period the author was deriding?

You know with ISIS, the more I learn about these guys, the more I don’t care for them.

As for being “aggressively safe”? You mean the run where Peppermint Patty and her, uh, friend Marcie get shipped off to a church camp where Patty freaks over being told about the End of Days, only to realize upon seeing a poster wanting donations for a new church building, that she “wasn’t born yesterday”?

Yeah, those are generally the arguments I use. It just feels weird not having science to back up my philosophy.

life does, in fact, begin at conception, because it is at conception that that little bundle of cells has the DNA of a completely unique human being

Don’t you believe in forgiveness?

Jeez, they even pile up on you for saying freedom of speech doesn't protect you from being beaten up and completely ignore that you explicitly mentioned freedom from violence as the thing we should talk about and enforce in such situations.

While freedom of speech in theory means you should be able to say anything, in reality there are many limitations, pedophilia (for instance, possession of images) being a pretty obvious one, and I don't believe the US, despite its first amendment, protects that.

Free speech and hate speech are not the same thing, terrible comparison.

The idea behind "Freedom of Speech" is that governments shouldn't have the right to punish those who speak their mind. . . its not supposed to save you when you say "nigger" in a mixed crowd and three black dudes take you outside and show your face how they feel about that word.

I have trouble differentiating between the dribble coming from religious fanatics and atheists myself.
