Dang this brings back memories...applying wrinkle cream now. But Andre, you'd better not post an article today about rotary phones or you'll have completely befuddled the wee tech pups.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Well, for one thing, Vista has a very established (and in my personal experience, an exceedingly well-earned) "reputation" that I wont expound upon here lest a flame war erupteth. My employer for one would not drop XP machines until W7 was available and thoroughly tested in the public sector. In short, the IT dept.

I have found the hard drive dock to be extremely useful for sorting thru old HDs. Worth every penny.

OGC, thats why I found it highly amusing there was such an uproar about carrier IQ on cell phones, yet people flock to FB without a care.

It probably has to do with FB's dynamic (and permanent) backup, i.e., when their timeline accessed said backup for certain photos/items.

I guess to get timeline I'd first need to become a FB member.

uh oh! discord amongst the FB sheeple!

Which is why, of course, Bush Lite entered a trillion dollar war in Iraq to search for those elusive "massive stockpiles" of WMDs and "nukular" weapons, that according to Bush Lite, Saddam had stockpiled "throughout the country," said war we are only now wrapping up (sans a single firecracker or sparkler being found

I had essentially the exact same view (albeit a little lower) from my office in the new 7WTC. It is a great view on nice days, quite to the point of distraction.

Actually, compared to the excruciating banality of, say, Facebook...where hundreds of millions of folks (not me) log on each day (repeatedly) to look at and comment on photos of potholes, descriptions of their friends' bowel habits, the shade of paint they just did their nails in, and such similar exciting social

I hope no one who is miffed/annoyed by the carrier IQ ruckus is on Facebook, given their dynamic, permanent backup from which nothing is deleted. Ever.

And I trust you're not also on Facebook, given their active dynamic backup SOP, such that every byte of info ever put on FB (every photo, every msg, txt, chat, etc.) is saved permanently and indefinitely - without user ability to delete.

Actually there was no implication of the sort (one cant even shoot anything on that app, which had you actually taken a bare minimum of effort to explore, you would know). I'd try to explain the connection I was (actually) making, but I fear it would be over your head.

my comment had nothing to do with "politics" but thanks for playing

Oh the Tea party folks are gonna loooooooooooooove this sport.

The thing that concerns me is that the (very small and shrinking) minority of us non-FB sheeple/clones will ultimately be forced to join FB because certain internet sites/functions are moving towards requiring FB account login credentials to get logged into the non-FB site/function.

So many folks really seem obsessed with FB, 24/7/365. I have no interest/desire in joining a site where I have to be pinged nonstop with photos of potholes, updates of Molly's latest bejeweled score, stories about John's colonic activity etc. (i.e., the usual FB banality).

Folks, I got mine the original firesale day, really nice unit great for couch surfing, using on train/plane etc. so you might try to pick one up. I call it my HP Couchpad.
