I'm watching Indie Game: The Movie right this second, so I'm getting a kick.

Not to mention the socialist overtones. Which I thought was great! But those inclined to the right-wing might not.

The fact that the only business leader who opposed this deal was the guy in charge of a vibrator manufacturer is way more funny to me than it should be...

Very nice, all of you! :)

It really is. The fan translation team did a really good job of not only translating it, but localizing any sort of puns or names that wouldn't make sense in America. They even changed sprites to match up with stuff from the localization of EarthBound.

Nintendo should legally purchase the fan-translation, even if it's only for a dollar or something. I'm pretty sure if it was purchased it could be used.

I heard the fan translation for Mother 3 is pretty much top notch, so it would be a good deal. They would cut costs, and people would love them for it. It would be simply stupid to not go with this.

I'd say the most obvious roadblock is that it's a Gameboy Advance game and no one has released a Gameboy Advance game since 2008... and quite a bit earlier for the last GBA game actually released by Nintendo.

Recently Nintendo appears to be doing a lot of things because fans requested it, which is very good business practice for a company with so much nostalgia associated with it.

Sorry for the double post, but this article doesn't do justice on what Tomato actually did say.
From his blog:

Remember all, Itoi tweeted about what appears to be a Mother compilation in the works. Now that NoA knows the demand for the Mother series, maybe there's hope for it to come to America.

Nintendo would be smart to release all three as a retail game on one cart for the 3DS.

Not only a ton of good will, but also (and more importantly for nintendo) tons of money. Put it on the 3ds (heck even ds if you want more people) for 3 bucks and it will sell a ton.

This reminds me that I still need to get around to playing Mother 3 but I'd really like to support Nintendo at the same time, so the only way that both of these could be accomplished feasibly would be for Nintendo of America to bring it over here. Not that it's likely to happen without some sort of remake...

For the record, Soul Edge (the first game in the series) was not re-titled Soulcalibur. Its western release was titled Soul Blade (though still because of Tim Langdell's antics). All future games in the series used the Soulcalibur title in all regions. #corrections

Which is sad, because Mother 1 actually has a slightly better story, just terrible gameplay and pacing and it was hurt by limited sprite capabilities (which lead to bland, repetitive mazes / dungeons) . If they were to re-release Mother 1 with Mother 2's engine (or even Mother 3's engine) it would be great. Also,

Came here to say that...

All depends on the finish on them. If they're coated with a semi-gloss or matte, you can't do much about it. But a light coat of poly will help fill in scratches to bring out some shine.
