He has risen.
He has risen.
We don't really hate him, but even if you are normal and like him, even having a decent sense of humor, it's really hard to deny that the majority of his fans are kids who aren't into intelligent or clever humor. Also, the guy himself has responded poorly to criticism himself.
Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg, one of the most well-known "Let's Play" gamers on the planet, now has over 25 million
subscriberstwelve year olds. Compare that to Justin Bieber, with 8 million, or Rihanna, with 12.
>> Has a franchise so great that it's innovative gameplay formula has been copied by multiple developers.
Well, seeing LGR show up on Kotaku just saved my day!
I had Shaq Fu on Genesis.
Now where will twelve year olds spend all of their time!?
Oh, sorry. I discovered the original recently, and was disappointed to find out that they completely changed it. Removing the cool religious cult and the sword combat and stuff.
Is it possible to patch it to the American version? I remember an older game that was regionally censored offering a decensorship patch on the official website. Not all companies are that cool, though.
You know it is South Park, right?
I'm not drawing to conclusions. I also understand that it is a common industry practice and it may or may not be noteworthy unless they were losing major workers.
Nowhere in the article does it mention testers. Also, the new Thief game was garbage. Doesn't it make some sense that there would be cuts? The studio is owned by Square Enix.
I tried it out awhile ago with a friend. Another player showed up and gave use some cool gear during the tutorial. Seems like it still has some sort of player base around.
You have to be joking if you think that. The new Shadow Warrior was as far away from Duke as you could go. It copied Serious Sam's arena gameplay. I'm not saying it was a bad game, but it really isn't anything like Duke. Not saying Rise of the Triad was like Duke, either, but at least they actually tried to have…
Uh... No.
I am incredibly excited to here that, since Interceptor is probably the only studio capable of saving the Duke Nukem franchise.
I'm pretty sure Id Software owns Commander Keen right now. Good luck getting them to make a platformer, nobody from the Keen days even works there any more.
It isn't like Nintendo still profits off of Pokemon Red & Blue anyway. Also, emulation may be illegal, but it is rare for anyone to do anything about it. I don't think there are any cases of anyone being sued for emulation, maybe hosting, but not emulating themselves.
Urh. I'll hit you with recoil!
I feel like developers need to find an alternative to the traditional method, most match-making-type games won't work ten years off, and it is a real pain to get a game that will only be a "complete" work for the first ten years or less of it's life.
