From the article above it sounded like the show about her was being written by two white women (Abbi Jacobson and Jessi Klein). Clicking through to the Deadline article it sounds like Irby will be involved with the show writing/producing as well, but that didn’t really come across in the piece above.

As in a racist purpose? I feel like a Jezzie is more likely to demonstrate inadvertent racism, but what do I know.

Irby will be writing on the show as well which is not made clear in this piece.

I would be curious to know what some folks think about two white women adapting the work of a black woman.
