that is not the BFG I remember from Doom.

Oh, they said something similar about Sim City, and that thing runs just fine offline. In fact, it doesn’t even run synchronized online and it is shown that zero calculations are done in the cloud.
The universe of Elite could run absolutely fine completely offline. There is enough hidden stuff in Frontier and First

Since the base game is now most of the time on sale for 18€ it is hard to go wrong. At full price, I wouldn’t have recommended it to anyone though. I would’ve expected the game to be more fleshed out, more “complete” upon release, you could sense that they suddenly had to rush it out of the door for monetary reasons.

Yes, true. But I still have to be connected to the net. And that is the point, I can still fire up any old Elite and play it whenever I want. (and I do from time to time)
But I cannot do that and probably will never be able to do that with the new Elite. Although it was promised to me all the time through kickstarter

The R129 Benz SL is not such a good choice. Most of them are eating their electric wiring looms right now since the isolation of the cables is getting more brittle the older they become. The result is often expensive, sometimes catastrophic. No one likes engine fires.

Ah, console player. Did you by any chance play the previous Elite incarnations?
Most fans started with the first one, not all on the BBC micro, but most on C64/Amiga or PC (Elite Plus). All Elite Games (Elite, Elite Plus, Elite II:Frontier, Frontier - First Encounters) came in a nice box with a book containing stories

It is a bit different than you paint it but yes, they had a load of trouble making the assets produced by different teams work with each other because the standards to which they were made were raised on the fly as money (and expectations) poured in.
It is logical though that a higher quality product takes

Nowhere, since that up there is a Ford Capri.

Well I know people who built a silent case with just the PSU fan (everything else cooled via heatpipes connected to giant passive coolers which in essence made up the outside of the case), but the downsides are a) it needs to be massive b) overclocking is a no-no or the power circuitry will fry itself. You always have

you’ve read in the review that it is thoroughly overclocked and still completely silent -> airflow is actually quite good in this thing.

You know Formula Fusion?

I still have the collectors edition sitting in front of me, the code unredeemed. Too much to do, too little time. Maybe in one or two months I will get around to install it and then quest gently through it. The time when being “first” at anything meant something to me is long gone, it went away with the first version

I spoke with an Apple representative because we actually develop software for a lot of I-devices. Apparently now apple only provides on-site repair and help to customers who buy upwards of 2000 macs per year (for themselves, that is).
I don’t have to make an appointment and run to the genius bar every time a mac goes

True to some extend (depending on your FOV setting) but you also get a better perception of depth and direction.

Simple answer: They are not. In 3rd person mode you always lose one thing above all else: Precision while aiming.

I wonder why there are so many nut-allergies in northern America.

Yup, I understood what you meant, I was only surprised because I for example have smaller hands and liked the bigger original Xbox controller better than the smaller versions.
The ONE controller is near perfect for me though, the Elite Controller ist the best overall controller I’ve been using ever.

The new whatsapp TOS in Germany are actually illegal and will probably result in a lawsuit.
In the displayed text whatsapp says that in order to provide their service you must grant them access to your phonebook and provide them with the contained data. By doing so you also declare that you have all the rights to

Strange, I have small hands, yet I liked the Duke (original Xbox Controller) very much, the S Controller was too tiny and cramped for me. Must have something to do with the overall form though, the mini controllers from MadCatz for the Xbox were fine.

I also like the current-gen Xbox controllers. Plus, you can attach any standard cable headset (p.ex. the one you already have from your mobile phone) and use it - even on PC for Skype or Teamspeak.
The Elite nails it though. Never felt that much precision in a standard controller.

Apart from that, the Sega Saturn Analog
