Reminds me of this...
I'm a massive fan of Cosworth, this situation reminds me of their work with Mercedes' 190e, taking a great car to the next level. I'm willing to say this car will be an instant classic. I just hope they make it affordable and available in markets outside of Europe.
The only thing that can trump a brown 930 is a brown 935
I'll take one in Jalopnik Racing Brown
Damn that's beautiful, I picture my retirement looking something like this.
Great post, I've always been tempted to go and that list has convinced me it'll be well worth it. Next year is shaping up to be a good one, might try for Le Mans if I can stretch the budget.
This is great to hear, I didn't realise the future of the 'ring was so sketchy. Visiting it has definitely been moved up on my automotive bucket-list.
My late model W201 says 190E on the back, most people assume a 1.9 litre engine as there's no other badging. Most people would be wrong because mine's a 1.8 litre. At least these days if the numbers are larger it's because the manufacturer believes it's the equivalent of that larger displacement (as mentioned), unlike…
I can see they're tapping into their "Beast Wars" heritage with this film, I hope they don't screw it up.
One of the best concepts I've seen in some time, gorgeous.
It'd have to be Peugeot's 205 T16.
Le Mans (1971) on Blu-Ray, $16.30 on Amazon
I nominate the Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2. Made at the height of group b's madness, this thing has it all. Crazy power, advanced aerodynamics and a cult status few racing specials can much. I thank the Gran Turismo series for the last one.
I've had a 1990 190E for going on 3 years and it's been the most reliable car i've ever owned. My vote is for the Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3 16V, that's the model that broke the 25,000km, 25,000 mile and 50,000km long distance world records on it's launch in 1983.
Porsche Carrera GT
The Peugeot 205 T16
I agree that a car doesn't need to be expensive to be classy. I've had a Mercedes 190e in black schwarz for the last few years and I love it. Being the last truly over-engineered Mercedes means for a 20+ year old car it feels much better than half the cars on the road today. They are quite affordable to purchase,…
A Mercedes Benz 190e Evo II (or any really, I just want that rear wing) with the engine from the AMG SLS would be amazing.
