I’ve been wondering how the guns work, too. My best guess is the material the hosts are made of is weaker than good old flesh and bone, so a low velocity round will penetrate instead of bruising. But that doesn’t explain why hosts die, but guests don’t even get a hole in their clothes, so maybe it’s magic.
