Yep, to paraphrase both Lincoln Steffens and Walt Kelly, “We’ve seen the future and it’s us!” Being a Gen-Xer, I think I was born in the “sweet spot” of watching technical progress; from Apollo in daycare, to Viking live from Mars with Carl Sagan on ABC, in grammar school; to Space Shuttles; and now Pluto and beyond.

Yep, one of my favorite TOS moments.

Well, in addition to “submarines,” when someone now asks, in relation to “20,000 Leagues”:

It’s like carrying Elvis dead on the toilet around your neck.

Toasted Sienna...love it! Sounds like an important part of a complete breakfast.

I’d go for a cool metallic blue. If all else fails, they can use all those crazy names from my art school paints; Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber, and my personal favorite, Phthalocyanine Green!

I guess a Freudian might count the self-kill in S3, but I give Reeve a pass on that one (if you get split apart like Capt. Kirk in “The Enemy Within” it doesn’t count, my rule).

or 2) That the entire Cold War was some sort of set up by a massive conspiracy.

Growing up in Ohio, I was always ashamed how many people believed that “faked landing” shit, along with “alien bodies at Wright-Patterson AFB”; especially when the first man on the moon and the first American to orbit the Earth were native sons of the state. I find the “Capricorn One” mindset in a person is usually

It’s the only way to reconcile my mind without turning to the bottle as I lose all faith in mankind.

In addition to the “LBJ whacked JFK” theme mentioned by Jman40513, the only other conspiracy theory I held as a kid was I thought Paul McCartney’s 1980 marijuana bust in Japan was engineered by Yoko Ono. 35 years later, I shamefully admit I am the only person on Earth who has probably ever harbored that ridiculous

Sadly, MS marketing of the Surface would only make the iPad sales increase. MS makes a great tablet, damn if they know how to market it though...

Wow, damn, I didn’t read the fine print on the accesories. And I complained when I had to shell out $100 (w/coupon) for the SP3 keyboard. At least MS gives you the pen (they should give you the keyboard too, but that’s another thread...)

I can see your point on the graphics. I’ve used my SP3, i5/4 Gb ram for Adobe Premiere. obviously not as speedy as my 16gb deskto Mac but it got the job done.

Agreed. I do digital book illustration on the side and I love my Surface Pro 3. I don’t have any shade for the new iPad, though. If it were more price competitive, I would easily recommend it for younger artists who own iPhones and can’t afford a Cintiq. However, for $799 I really couldn’t recommend over an SP3. Come

Actually, I’m an idiom. People get confused.

The basis for the next film, “Star Trek: First Tranya.”

Some call it the “come hither” look. Or maybe “go hither” in this case?

When I read anything about evolutionary biology, I hate trying to ascribe my “meaning” to the natural order of things (as an agnostic, I mean order as in the way we found things in the universe, as opposed to some “Intelligent Designer”). BUT...if you think about it (my dimestore, idiot layman’s hypothesis follows),

Beg to differ. IMHO, the reason Kirby’s 70s stuff for DC was great because Stan Lee WASN’T around. Undiluted Kirby is my fav. If DC had any sense they’d actually incorporate some New Gods, Kamandi, OMAC, etc. into whatever cinematic mess they’re cooking up. The worst DC Kirby beats the hell out of MoS and DKR any day
