But is the unmodded game you get in the end really "the way the developer intended you to experience their game"? How can you be sure that their vision wasn't limited by the hardware it had to run on and that the right mods won't restore some of that original vision?

And it looks like the planets will be better designed this time.

Uhm Battlefield 3 Premium Edition (with all the DLC) only costs half as much as the base game costed originally right now (The base game costs a third of the original price), that's not what I'd call "still full price". (And it isn't on sale)

You haven't notice that EA hasn't released a single game on Steam since 2011/2012?

They've actually understood that quite some time ago, you can usually get games from EA for ridiculously cheap within a year. I bought Crysis 3 for 5€ in their Easter Sale. And let's not forget the humble Origin bundle which included Dead Space 3 last year...
