Yep, getting 10 friends was a pain for people who didn't use Steam's social layer, and you also had to install and run Big Picture mode, which is a pain for a lot of people who just use a desktop.
Kinda lame that they ran a competition which was actually quite laborious to enter and turned out to be impossible to win for anybody other than US citizens.
