Turbocharging V8s predates every one of these vehicles (and BMW as a maker of cars); Cadillac has been using V8s since like the 1910s and the brand has never not had a V8 engine in its lineup. These are not new things, why do you assume that they are building this engine to mimic BMW/Audi/Mercedes?
