Interesting wheel design. The lip is huge, they stick out much farther than the rim protector of the tire. Can anyone enlighten me, is this to accommodate wider street rubber?

As a lover of retro/mod styled motorcycles and huge fan of triples I am pretty damn excited for this machine. I think the FZ-09 is one of the best bikes I have swung a leg over recently but I don’t love the looks. This bike is just win all around for me.
Definitely much more cruiser oriented placement of the forward controls on this version of the Diavel. The previous version is more my cup of tea but I do think this is an attractive bike and if I were in the cruiser market this would be exponentially more appealing to me than a Harley, Star, Indian, etc.
A bit ironic isn’t it? Keep in mind we’re talking about puttering down an alleyway at 5-10MPH in first gear and trying to maintain a constant speed. Think “seeking a parking spot” not adventure. Off-road or higher speed I don’t find it to be an issue. If I see rough road or a pothole ahead at speed I whack the…
Clutch sounds like an adjustment issue. Mine grabs right at the very beginning of travel and is very progressive. The redline is definitely easy to bang into, it feels like the motor wants to rev higher when you suddenly stop accelerating. I think my warning lights flash at 8,000 RPMand it shuts it down at 8,200RPM. I…
Agreed, I absolutely love my Scrambler but the throttle is snatchy. It’s a bit problematic on broken pavement or other rough surfaces. If I see a particularly rough section of road ahead I’ll typically shift up a gear or two so I’m not launching myself forward when I hit a pothole. Otherwise I can’t really find…
Taking a nice fall ride through a remote route I had pieced together over the years of logging roads, single track and twisty pavement to make a lovely 80 mile dual sport loop. I was cruising along enjoying the colors and perfect fall weather when I caught movement from the corner of my eye. A good portion of this…
18” Brake rotors Front and Rear with 6pot fronts and 4pot rears. Dayum.
I was riding my motorcycle through Glenwood Canyon on I-70 and traffic stopped due to road construction. After being informed that we weren’t moving for at least another 30 minutes, I parked the bike and joined the crowd milling about in the middle of the interstate. I was in the West-bound lane which is elevated…
That is unfortunate. I think it is exceptional, I wouldn’t change a thing.
You are a bad bad man Wes... a Scrambler just joined my stable this afternoon.
I like the hair metal... accompanying a couple guys riding very slowly through a flat field.
This is in no way shape or form comparable to a $20k off-road build. This is more like a mini-me version of a $300k Trophy Truck.
Wow I don’t know how I missed this, sequential shift manual with a triple. Those are two of my favorite things in the world. The want is strong with this one.
Timely article, I was looking for something to watch, saw this and rented it on demand. It was good, I chuckled and the pacing was right. I do hope we see more of Farmiga in the future.
Yes so... update: Just bought a red Icon. Thanks Wes.
I was just thinking I’ve jumped several cars that big, meh. Then I saw your video. Amazing!
I visited my brother in Thailand 3 years ago. He was living there at the time and my sister met us there as well. My sister and I took 4 days and just rode north from Phuket on little 125cc Scooters. No plan, just exploring and see where we end up. It was absolutely amazing, some of the best days of travel I have ever…
I keep coming back to this bike. I’ve owned bikes all up and down the spectrum and currently have a fairly varied stable, yet the bike I ride the most is a plated dirtbike because its small, nimble and fun to ride around the city. It is also loud and being watercooled without fans it gets hot in traffic. I have a…
Amazing photos! Really enjoyed the ones in the thread as well! Here’s my shot from my roof.
