That’s it. It finally happened. After over fifteen years of coming to read random articles: this is the era that finally gets me to move on. The absolute rampant spoilers in titles is out of control and barely warrants a read over Reddit posts I see days prior. It’s just not worth it anymore.

Yes Nintendo, please tell me more about the “manifest and irreparable damage” you have suffered.

When me president, they see.

Why waste time say lot word when few word do trick?

The phrase “___ is giving ___” is a way to say something resembles or has the same feeling as something else.

Those aren’t mutually exclusive statements. The negative attention pre-dates its release.

I’m reminded of how Michael Eisner basically saved Disney by producing one or two expensive tentpole films per year surrounded by a bunch of low-budget, good-but-not-outstanding movies. Basically the entirety of Touchstone kept the company solvent. The fucking Ernest films prevented a hostile takeover of Disney. And

Next up Ubisoft will say Skull and Bones did not meet their expectations.

WB seems incompetent at everything they do. They are a media company apparently ran by people who apparently are at terrestrial odds with one another. Any reports over games or movies that I hear from this group are always a whirlwind of reactionary production changes (often post-production) to reshape some IP into

I hate that I said “good” as I saw that headline, but... well, good. Glad to know that a bad thing happened to a bad idea (sympathy to the poor team that worked on it, though).

I’m a little baffled WB apparently still had so much resting on this game being successful despite the very earned hate it received every step of the way, especially when it was revealed as a live service.

Comparing Suicide Squad to Hogwarts Legacy is like listening to the sales team leaders where I work comparing advertising sales from major election years to years without elections and then expecting the same results.

Utter foolishness, just like the idea everything must be driven by ever increasing sales at all cost.

It’s the everything has to be a live service mentality, that ruins games and developers.

Good.

I’m so exhausted of late stage capitalism. When do we get to the part where we put CEOs and shareholders in a guillotine?

RIP Rocksteady. Cause of death AT&T+Zazloff+other idiots who don’t know how to run a game division.

Heck, with the Persona games there’s a huge uproar over ‘censorship’ when we are removed as a cultural punching bag.

Like, if I had a nickel for how many times Atlus inserted queer people into a comic relief scene just to make them seem predatory and then removed it later I would have 2 nickels but its still

Japanese fetishization?

I’m not quite sure what you are stating for. Are you saying you are less concerned about queer rep in games and more concerned that you aren’t pretty enough in video games?

Like, what games are you playing that are forcing you to make less attractive avatars, and what does that have to do with the subject at hand?

“there’s a percentage of the gaming population–like queer and trans players–which is already playing despite being essentially uninvited, and the industry sees us as “gravy”—a nice extra but not a group worth catering to directly.”
