I remember that you could easily clear the game without meeting the Etecoons, but the Dachora was much harder to miss. This might be the only game I’ve ever attempted to speed run. Simply because beating it in under 3 hours gets you the best ending.

Sometimes as a 30+ year old gamer, I don’t know whether I miss my free time that allowed me to play so many video games, or if I breathe a sigh of relief because I don’t have to deal with some of this stuff.

If folks are interested in a breakdown of the game by someone who really knows the engine, I recommend looking at Robert Yang’s playthrough of the game. It’s a more technical look at the level design that is very illuminating and was definitely on my mind as we were streaming.
