I agree Hitch! Playing this game on Survival Mode is no joke! I've never played it any other way though. There is a tremendous amount of satisfaction in building something large and amazing to behold while beset with a zombie/creeper/spider/ender-man apocalypse. This guy takes the cake though! Very impressive.

I assure you my hardware is up to date... but on a happy note, this problem, which has been plaguing my computer ever since I got it, has just been fixed! I tried everything in the books to fix it a few years back. Nothing was working so I just gave up. After reading your comment I went on Steam to search for a

Waiting for someone to overdub some "Flight of the Bumble Bee" piano music to this!

This has got to be the reason behind Bioshock 1 no longer being compatible with current gen PCs. My old XP computer ran the game fine but with my new Windows 7 comp (really it's two-year old) I can't bring the game up. Many other people have been having the same issue as is seen in the Steam chat about the game.

There is. Do a search on Kotaku I belive they featured it a while back.

Good post! I thought I was alone on this. My main gripe with the combat is the chaos but that's only because I don't think you are given the tools to handle that chaos very well.

My thoughts exactly! Great post.

I really hate this for those workers who were laid off. But I see this as something potentially positive for gamers.

Why do you say that they lack in imagination when you don't understand all they have created? You shouldn't judge a book by its cover. The opening movie of Homeworld only sets the pace for one of the most moving stories I have ever played.

This is starting to look kind of good! If I were a Treky I'd buy it on the first day. Now I think I'll wait for the reviews. And heck I can always buy it on a steam sell.

This looks really awesome, although I've had problems with a Razer product in the past. It was an 80$ keyboard that kept bugging out on me so that I'd have to reach behind my tower, unplug it, and replug it in before it would work again... not very convenient when your in the middle of a TF2 match. The same thing

This is a vast improvement! In the old layout I kept having to change it to blog view. Which meant 5 extra seconds of swinging my clicker over the change view mode, waiting for the drop menu, and then hovering over "Blog View" before I got the Kotaku I enjoyed best. 5 seconds is a long time in internet land!

I saw the review yesterday and did my little skip to the bottom for the 9.4 score... not because I'm a cold and heartless illiterate person (I know how to type and read words) but because I've already preordered the game and I don't want to know a thing about until its in my hands!

And they should be sure that women don't EVER get educated... you know for the good of the people.

Taken in its context I find Garriott's argument on game design to be a valid one. I have come across a similar situation as a music composer. Composers can't play all of the instruments in the orchestra (I have yet to meet someone who does) but they are still required to write out all of the various parts. The best

It won't solve the problem internally but it is literally something that can help change the way men think of women.

I preferred the look of the old one even before the new one had come out! Now I prefer the new one before it was cool to prefer the old one after the new has come out.

I bet my brother was googling it! this conversation was held over facebook after all.

My brother is not the big gamer that I am. He likes CoD type games. He asked if there were any new games out there to look for... I showed him this one. His reaction after watching one of the trailers, paraphrased:
