So basically they need to telepathically know all of that, know you properly did troubleshooting on your end up to that point and that you're one of the few who can do it competently. Sounds reasonable. They really ought to just know skip the standard process of elimination for you when they see it's your number.

Shortened URLs in forum posts and emails are probably the most common places I've encountered then. Even regular URLs in emails are hard to scrutinize on smartphones without actually clicking them. It's really about layers of protection being better than a single solution.

Not for viruses, but for spoofed link protection. I can't mouse over links and see where they actually go. My malware protection comes in the form of aggressive ad blocking.

This will go nicely with the ebook price fixing settlement.

Are you listing these as positive or negative things to look for?

For a mere $15, I can sell you my super uninstaller package :D

You are a GentleBeaver and a scholar. Thank you.

To clarify, a password locked iphone.

That's only if it's on it's "home" computer, right? If it's never been synced before then you still do. I deal with a lot of tourists away from their systems.

My issue tends to be the headphone jack receiver. Crackly when you rotate the jack and it's left or right ear only if you don't. Any chance it's something I don't have to disassemble the whole thing over?

Might have to try q-tipping the jack, now that I think about it. Where's that alcohol?

That's all marketing hype. Once you've had a well tuned analog experience, you'll swear off digital.
