No jokes involved. As an iPhone owner, the iPad is a huge disappointment. With the iPhone, you expect a somewhat gimped experience as your screen real estate is what truly limits the capabilities/experience. With the iPad, you have plenty of real estate, so the glaring disadvantage is iOS.

There will be two Surface models: Pro and RT. Pro may be running a mobile core i5 processor, so I highly doubt 10hrs. RT will be running ARM, so 10hrs should be attainable, but it's also not running a FULL OS.
