@Leanid: I can see how this benefits the younger and busier types. The younger (less patient) can pick up a game and play on. Then those like myself, who are busy with life outside of gaming, can still get a "fix" from time to time without allocating time I don't already have.

@Duuuuuuude: I don't know what those who were disappointed in Gears expected, it's not an academic course. It's a game about killing enemies and it does it with flare. I've had more "OH SHIT!" moments in Gears than any other game I've played.
