I love how you think this makes it better, not worse.”

I didn’t say it was better.

I was critiquing the implication of the article that the reason for this was somehow to protect toxic casters, rather than creating carve-outs for rules that would change later anyways.

The better solution would have been to add “Just

If you read the WAPO article, it basically says that this was most often to prevent banning for non-gameplay content, since “Just Chatting” as a category was only created in 2016, and “talk show” type content was explicitly bannable in at least 2014 if not later.

My understanding is the reason for this list was because of report brigading (and, being largely automated someone was auto-banned after a critical mass of reporting, which is how most of the internet still works, sadly). Basically, communities of ne’er-do-wells would just start mass reporting individual streamers

Unfortunately, I very much do not like motion controls, especially in shooters. My roommate in grad school had a Wii U and had the trilogy, and I tried, and just couldn’t.

I’m too old for new things.

Open World has become the solution looking for a problem, completely agreed.

I realized when replaying Alan Wake recently that I honestly enjoyed the linearity of the game. The game hits a good balance of rewarding checking every nook and cranny with fun things to find, while still being a linear game that you can sit

I have always *really* wanted to play the Metroid games, but I tried playing the first literally a couple weeks too late.

Because my first shooter was golden eye, I was used to left stick as a teenager forward/back/turn and right stick lookup/lookdown/strafe. But then I played, of all games, Die Hard Vendetta (which is

Not to mention THPS has a significantly larger budget and developer base.

Biography:

Breaking Madden is just an amazing series that you should 100% read.

BEEFTANK (all caps no space)

Clarence BEEFTANK is my hero

Dude, this was *definitely* a pump and dump. Get your balls out of his mouth.

And many multiples lower than when he was screaming “hodl” while he and his buddies sold off their stock.

“I have a right to be suckered into a pump-and-dump, and anyone who tells me otherwise or tries to punish a trivially illegal market scheme is a dirty capitalist, which is evil.”

-Kotaku chat, basically

Can we please stop lionizing thisguy who literally makes most of his money on pump-and-dump schemes?

Like, a *lot* of people lost a *lot* of money on the gamestop pump-and-dump. Yes, fuck the stock shorters. But it is well documented he and his ilk sold their stock while he was still shouting “hodl” at everyone

I wasn’t defending Denuvo.

I was saying that not everything is the fault of Denuvo

Yes, but Denuvo doesn’t use GPU. It uses CPU and drive.

The problems being described here are largely GPU based

Perhaps I’m in the minority here, but I honestly don’t own a thumbdrive. I have an external hooked up, but when I try to move the save the PS5 won’t let me without moving the whole game with it.

I *hate* lack of manual save management. Like, I’m fine with limiting save scumming, but if often comes with:

“Oh, btw, if you want to start a new game, we will delete your old save.” This has actually stopped me from replaying Control, my favorite game of the last 5 years, because I’ve unlocked so many high end items.

To be clear, I’m not at all saying Denuvo is good.

Just that the claim that anything bad happening must be because of Denuvo is false.

Playing on PS5 with headset.

Audio is fucking amazing.

When you load into a 3d space, things in the distance are loaded at a lower resolution, since you can’t see fidelity anyways. As you move around the map, especially in the ubiquitous open world games, the game is constantly loading in where you are moving towards.
