I would say online media has generally always been shallow. If anything, there is now a depth available that wasn’t available before when you know where to look. That said, I authentically didn’t enjoy Dune Messiah. The first 70% of that book is just everyone being suspicious of everyone all the time over and over and over. 99% of the plot happens in the last 30%.

To this day, with a high end PC, I routinely get 1.5 second “pauses” where the game just hangs. It happens probably once an hour or so. Game is on and SSD, I think it’s honestly just that they have a blocking thread somewhere loading data that just messes up the whole game.
