Have you seen how expensive 4K is? There's no point to really support that, and there won't be until the next generation. Sony already tried to push a line of 3D TVs using their platform and it failed, 3D didn't take off because it was a far-too-expensive, unnecessary upgrade that came far too soon after standard

Little bit disappointing. I already bought mine a year ago anyway so I'm not bothered, but it'd be nice to see more people buying the platform, and that just won't happen without a hefty price cut. I can't wait for Soul Sacrifice, Tearaway and Killzone: Mercenary, but the platform definitely needs more consistent

I know, I know. I feel your pain. Just the thought of FFVII looking as nice as XIII gets me all giddy in all the right places, but then I remember just how bad XIII and XIII-2 were, and that their looks were the only things they had going for them. I can just see it now, they'd finally remake VII, only you'd only have

As others said, they said it right there in the stream. I really don't know why Kotaku didn't mention it, though. It kind of seemed like something that just may've been worth mentioning.

Well that turned out pretty well, didn't it? The PS4 still plays used games, and it doesn't require an always-on internet connection.

Well you never know what kind of deal was made. I'm not reading anything into it anyway, I'll get it for whichever platform it looks best on, if it looks worth getting at all. I'm sure I won't be too swayed by some extra DLC.

I'm so glad to see that this is back on Vekta. I loved the last two games, but seeing that opening shot of Vekta got me all excited. Guerrilla are technical wizards, so it was always a shame to see the dark, dreary environments of the last two games. The brighter moments of KZ3 were the highlights for me, so I'm over

I wouldn't say it's like that at all, really. Do you remember the epic list of third-party supporters they had for the Vita when they announced it? Everyone was on it, everyone pledged support, then they all seemed to just...Bail out.

I've never understood the problem with online passes, though. If you buy a used game, you've not given the developer/publisher any money at all, so why should you deserve special treatment? Online Passes are cheap, and it's a way for developers to recoup lost revenue. If anything, it's going to make used games

I'm warming to this quite easily. The touchpad can make interface navigation much easier, outside of game uses, it looks more comfortable (not that I ever had a problem, but I know many did) and the Share button sounds like it could be quite nice.

If you can insert your PS3 discs to register them and gain access to stream them, then that's awesome. Not perfect, but I can live with that. I hate the thought of having to pay to access games that I've already bought, but that's not a deal breaker either, because obviously, the fact that I have PS3 games I'd want to

It's okay Miss Fogg, I can make your troubles go away; do you really want the developers of FFXIII and XIII-2 going anywhere near FFVII? No, you probably don't, not really!

Man, whoever arranged that presentation needs a slap in the face. Why would you, after finishing the tech side of things, open with Killzone, inFamous and Drive Club, only to finish with multi-platform developers rolling out for an hour just to say, "Yeah, we'll have some PS4 games out, and a lot of them with be on

I doubt those two things are ever happening. Jack Tretton's already said himself that he hates the idea, and it really doesn't make sense to do it anyway. As for the always-on internet connection, they wouldn't do that either because it'd do nothing but limit their install-base, and for what? There'd be no real

"Exclusive content for PlayStation platforms."

I bought my PS1, PS2 and PS3 for Final Fantasy games, but the PS4? Fuck no. Versus XIII still hasn't seen the light of day, and anything they have released has been utter bollocks.

Buying a PS1, PS2 and PS3, all for their first Final Fantasy entries and their inevitable successors, and then getting excited for the PS4 for anything but Final Fantasy, due to how Square Enix have bastardised everything they've touched or planned to touch over the last six years.

I don't mind having a subscription service, as long as it maintains their current philosophy towards the idea; provide value for money, rather than holding key features for ransom behind a pay-wall. Whoever went into a Microsoft meeting and said, "Hey guys, you know what people would love to pay for? The option to use

Those things aren't enough for me either! Do you know what is? New games. If the PS4 comes out with the likes of Killzone 4, Uncharted 4, Dragon Age 3 and The Witcher 3, and whatever else is on the next-gen horizon, whilst the PS3 rapidly becomes a barren wasteland of cheap cash-in titles, then I'm buying a PS4.

I think the main difference between Sony's use of a camera for games, and Microsoft's, is that Sony provided theirs as an optional extra on the back of more hardcore exclusives than ever, whilst Microsoft released theirs and abandoned their core audience entirely, in favour of their new-found casual crowd.
