It's doing video compression using just your CPU as a regular program, it's like back in the day with 3d games before acceleration. VLC plays everything, but on older computers can/will struggle.

I always took the force stuff to be more "guided by the force" not their active decision but just going with the flow at the peak of it, and basically having effortless movement and blocking, walking inbetween raindrops. At least for light-side.
