I agree. I preferred Connor to Ezio. AC Brotherhood and Revelation both lost me because I grew bored of Ezio. Haytham was the best character in the series so far and I enjoyed Connor too.

Yea, if Altair's game had the same development behind it he and his game would be waaaaaay better.
Crusades era Jerusalem and such are a MUCH better setting than Colonial America (almost anything is, really), Altair's got way more potential in him, as do his allies and enemies.

Except Altair doesn't have Haytham and

I'm not a fan of Conor, in fact he turned me off so much that I haven't completed the game. That said, this was an interesting read, with some great insights. Thanks.

My problem with Connor wasn't his personality or characterization, it's that he was nothing but an errand boy. Playing as Ezio or Altair, I never felt like I was doing things for anyone but myself. Even side missions didn't really detract from that, because I was doing them for money or power, or to build my order.

What you actually want Jason Statham but dont realize it.

Fans of Haytham and Connor should really read Oliver Bowden's book Assassin's Creed: Forsaken. It reads like a journal from Haytham's perspective when he was a child (and even features a few appearances from his father Edward) before moving into his years as a young man fighting in the Assassin-Templar war and then

Some very well made points in this discussion, particularly by Davy M Jones.

Thank you for not forcing me to type a similar response on my tablet

"had some personality, Altair had all the charm of a damp sponge."

Connor is hands down my favorite assassin out of the crew (haven't played 4 yet though). Admittedly his game takes place during my favorite historical period, but I found myself drawn to his story, personality, and struggles.

I found the relationship between Connor and Haytham almost like if Luke gave Vader a chance to tell his side of things... Before making his decision. I found the game interesting especially with the Frontier setting, and I loved using the forest for my Assassin-ing. As for Edward, I'm still not done but I mostly feel

Oh no! I was compelled by your speech I ran directly into that spoiler! Haytham did what?!

to add to what Instantdeath said, I actually prefer Conner to Ezio. Ezio quite simply was a serious Mary Sue who could do no wrong that's accountable to him. His 'failures' could all be written off to circumstance rather than a personal failing. On the other hand, Altiar had his arrogance be his downfall at the very

when a jarring triangle of polygonal imperfection broke up the otherwise perfect path of snow.

Bummer. I was hoping Lucina would take his spot.

Spot fucking on.

While I'm far from in love with Connor, I don't mind him, and feel those who unfavorably compare him to Ezio are kind of missing the point. Connor isn't supposed to be a lovable rogue. He's a straight faced, no-nonsense type of person, which is a personality type that was seen as virtuous at the time the game is set
