Pure gold! Ashley you have outdone yourself

Agree wholeheartedly Norbs. What a daft idea, to disable a $100 battery (or a $50 battery marked up for the extra tech). I can imagine these things turning up in tips and garage sales in droves in a few years as useless junk because the Bluetooth code gets lost somehow. It’s like DRM silliness but applied to real

I use dove soap and think it's quite good but I agree it's bullshit that an advertiser can get a story pulled like that. The editorial team at Buzzfeed should show more spine than that

Yech! Do you put your lips on that coffee mug?

Fail - At 17 pounds it's already exceeding the carry on baggage weight limit

That's the best juxtaposition I've seen in a very long time - bravo!

I know we like to use these terms but there's nothing here that looks much like a legal precedent (law X means Y). It hasn't changed (or clarified) the law as a legal precedent does.

Al Gore

As they say, there's none so blind as those who will not see...

I can see the future! If these things take off and get, you know, huge then this sort of scenario will arise :

...no one, except maybe William Gibson's legendarily logo-averse heroine Cayce Pollard, is going to walk around with a faceputer to avoid logos

I think it's great that Microsoft are finally innovating again (farewell Steve Ballmer) but they need to make a break with their fusty past and change the name from Outlook to something else. It's a toxic brand now in my opinion.

Let them go. When I was a kid, 10yo, my parents took me and my 3 siblings travelling for 2 years. Our travelling experience gave us an education that no school could have given us. We more or less fitted back in to school on our return and all of us subsequently went to university.

It really confirms for me how MS lost its way under Ballmer. That was Microsoft's lost decade. Probably only survived during that time because corporates were so rusted on to MS software. Looks to be coming into the new tech world under Nadella

I haven't tried Acorn, can't get it where I live anyway. But Vanguard exchange traded funds (ETFs) are very good in my experience. Very low management costs because you're not paying for a stock picker's Armani shoes - stocks are selected automatically according to the ETF's portfolio rules (eg S&P 500). And there

Agree! Many assume insurance will cover them for anything and everything. It doesn't. Insurance companies will often not cover you for risky behaviour, or will charge more to cover it. Policies can differ significantly in what is covered so you should check to see if the policy suits you - see my post on

If you are going to ride motorbikes when travelling, as I do (it's a great way to see a place), then check the emergency medical policy wording to see if you're covered for that and any conditions around that. Shop around for a policy that covers this (don't just get the cheapest). Many policies exclude motorcycle

Gold!

Same! I'm trying to persuade my GF of this approach - just don't buy that cr@p food at the supermarket and you won't end up eating it. Simplest ideas are sometimes the best

Ashley, love the no-prisoners approach to Robert S leaving Gizmodo...
