I remember it as pretty decent, though to be honest I wasn’t all that discriminating.  Carter, de Camp, Offut -- I think I read all of the Conan add-ons back in the day.  Hope you enjoy!

I only ever read his Conan stuff. He sounds like  a hell of a guy. Again, thanks for sharing this great memory.

Funny, I’ve never been all that interested in reading these books, but I found your account of Jordan’s dedication to be moving.  I didn’t know it had gone down that way.  Thanks for sharing that.

This is the most correct answer.

I think in the case of flu, the 2019 novel corona, and SARS, it was pretty clear that those in the most danger were, as you say, the elderly, those suffering from pre-existing conditions, and infants.  It would be kind of hard to imagine a virus that’s less dangerous to the most vulnerable...

“You ... Kingon bastard, you killed my son.  You Klingon bastard ... you killed my son.  You Klingonbastardyoukilledmyson.”  If I recall, he tries the line several different ways.

We showed this movie to my 12-year-old a few months ago, and it was all I could do not to cackle in anticipation just before this line came up. I didn’t want to spoil it for him. He still says “one damn minute” every now and then.

I’m sure you’re right, and that’s a very good point. There’s a lot I don’t understand here. I’m sure that, as always, certain patient profiles are associated with much greater risk. I’m actually hoping that the 2% is way overstated and that in any case early identification and care can bring it down.

The thing is, the 2019 novel corona virus looks to have a much higher mortality rate. The regular flu is like .1%, compared to maybe 2% for this particular corona virus. Personally, I’d like to know more about transmission rates.

Who gave them the keys to the Delorean and asked them to reenact Back to the Future?

Well, it could hardly be someone else’s, now, could it?

Well, not for me, but then I’m not the one making the claim.

How would we test such a hypothesis?

I can’t imagine I’m much of a data point in their overall scheme.  I’m not that convinced of my importance.

I don’t think a dictionary will help you.
