The world really needs a proper space opera. Not something that is "in the near future" or some dystopia but rather more like Star Trek without being childish like the Star Gate series. Something between Star Trek and BSG without the major conspiracy theory + earth is doomed etc. would be great.

And yes, something

Great. Start with a really great Sci-fi anthology a la Outer Limits/Twilight Zone with A-list guest stars and written by serious sci-fi authors.

The Firefly reeboot. It captured the levity and depth of character of Joss' original, but expanded on the seriousness of life in the boonies and on the run.

Here's what this reboot of 007 told us.

Let's ignore "Into Darkness" for a minute... 2009 Star Trek was a reboot fans and audience alike needed. Proof to Paramount that Trek was still a pop culture phenomenon. Proof that it could be exciting after Nemesis and Enterprise sank the franchise.

The Addams Family was the only good thing to come out of those dark days in the not too distant past when the studios tried really hard cash in on TV nostalgia.

I normally love the WTF of AHS, and I agree that any time Lange and Bassett want to chew scenery with each other it's awesome...

Did you see the play before the film? If so, here's a possibility (which especially works if you studied 20th century Modern lit): Stoppard and his two protagonists are influenced to a degree by Sam Beckett and characters like Vladimir and Estragon (or Hamm and Clov, or Winnie and Willie). But the internet is full of scum :/
Worse than any cantina...

It's not all that complicated. Syncretic cultures arise pretty often. The Romans are an excellent example; their mythos was a merger of Greek and Etruscan beliefs.

You wouldn't necessarily have to lose all of the mythological stuff. The Amazonian society could well be a syncretism of ancient Greece and Krypton.

He also has to open that...damn...box.

I have a feeling he won't kill a king, since
