The journalistic pipeline continues. The Drive had this story yesterday, without the Vox link, which is from April. What the hell goes on between these two sites? I can understand covering the same news, but having the same “Style” section stories?

Wouldn’t it be great if there could be an infrastructure bill that’s just about roads and bridges?
If an inspector is forced by his superiors to fudge reports and he doesn’t report it up the chain or to the appropriate authorities, then he deserves to be fired and lose his professional license.
I tow. (car on open trailer or a 7800# camper trailer...)
The Drive called... they want their "trucker culture" blog post back.
Right? Been a reader of this site since way back when, but sometimes I see the front page and I’m like “I do not have time to figure out what is what here, nope” and move on. The way the stories are sorted and organized is a nightmare
They need a way to pay someone to fix the site.
That’ll be a very expensive trailer? RVs maybe. But normal boat or u-haul trailers, no way.
A lot of guesswork in this article. Mooching for clicks ...
I kind of just want to say “who thought it wouldn’t be?” The reality is that any electric vehicle that will also need to tow heavy things a long way should actually be a range extended hybrid like the Chevy volt. Except in the case of they F-150 it could have been some kind of small compound turbocharged diesel with…
The US DOT says that nationwide, most bridges are (supposed to be) inspected every couple of years, with some on an annual cycle and a few on a 48-month cycle.
Hoping I can respond to this...
>Earlier this week Arkansas fired the bridge inspector who missed the crack in consecutive 2019 and 2020 inspections, and did take an opportunity to admit that the crack was visible in the 2019 video. Is there only one person responsible for all the bridges in Arkansas, or does this smell like a scapegoat job to you,…
Not to mention that it’s fine if you’re going to a friend’s house or commuting to work or stuff like that, but it isn’t going to work when you’re going grocery shopping for a family of 4. So if you have to have a non-bike EV anyways, you might as well just not bother with the bike at all.
“e-bikes for most personal trips (to say nothing of public transit)“
“Comply or die!”
“Instead of rendering aid, the troopers leave the heavyset man unattended, facedown and moaning for more than nine minutes, as they use sanitizer wipes to wash blood off their hands and faces.”
This is precisely why we say all cops are bastards. These police murdered a man, lied about it, and they’re superiors did absolutely everything they could to cover it up.
“Louisiana State Police called the officers’ action ‘awful but lawful.’”
