What’s with the AI generated image?

No joke, I read the headline as “execs” and thought this was going to be about games that shut down their services because company executives wanted to save money on underused servers.

A politician was paid to put a narrowly handpicked fact, void of contextual value, on the record?

It’s absolutely wild to me that these developers didn’t realize the most important part of their parody broadcast was, uh, the parody.

...but animation.

Been saying this since I watched the first couple hours get streamed and watching the rest just solidified the opinion. The writing is the most abysmally immature trash fire I’ve ever witnessed and if that is inherent to the concept of the original Cyberpunk IP, then I guess I actually hate the Cyberpunk IP.

Now playing

It should be noted that a game called Broomstick League, slated for consoles and PC, was pulled from storefronts without any explanation back in 2020. It’s easy to assume that JK Rowling’s lawyers got itchy and destroyed the game but to do so and not even follow up with a decent version truly shows how awfully stupid

In some eastern-made games, the name “Dave” is actually banned.

The exodus is already happening. The chances of Diablo 4 being a decent live service after about a year are rather low because the majority of people working on it will be new hires. It’s sad but here we are.

there is no ethical consumption under capitalism

I’m almost at a point where I don’t want to buy into any live service games unless there’s some sort of future-promise that I can play a private server version of it should it ever close down.

Got an extreme “... so what?” response from me. I don’t see anything interesting here. She has some goofy sandals. So what.

You think this is bad, trying using the custom game lobby in Halo: Infinite. That shit’s barely standing.

Sadly if you got into the weeds of the numbers, every employee at a company costs more (much more with benefits like Microsoft’s) than their salary. Keep in mind that these layoffs come with good severance packages, too. These decisions, at least at a company as large as Microsoft, are made with a year+ of budgeting

Not that I’m defending Microsoft but it’s more than likely that, on average, they were being paid more than that.

PCs were always pushing games forward and it was sad when consoles couldn’t catch up. Now consoles are pushing games forward; you won’t see me shedding any tears over PC builders having to catch up! I say this as a PC-first player, too. Good on consoles (sans Nintendo) for finally catching up and good on Sony and

Incredible opportunity for first-time home buyers, developers, and/or investors.

I watched someone stream this for a couple of hours and they couldn’t last a single day before being fired.

Luke... dude... how did you write this entire thing without mentioning the genius soundtrack composed by Guillaume David of Mechanicus fame? This guy set the gold standard for Warhammer 40k composition that inspired Jesper Kyd’s phenomenal Darktide OST. Ixion is only his second soundtrack released to the public and
