I agree that it was likely intentional. Nothing wakes up a dev to their game’s problems like someone exploiting those problems during a $ tournament. Props to the winner.
Yup, I was around to play the town-based progression. It was way better than what they have now. The reason they dropped it was because (my assumption) having a more complicated meta-game means more chances to monetize. I really wish they’d just revert back to the town, though.
