That’s exactly what they’re doing. At least that’s what I’ve been hearing from rumblings anyway. They intentionally made the Escape super soft and car-like so that they could position the Bronco Sport as the active, outdoorsy “off-roader” the first gen was. Honestly, I’m totally ok with it. I don’t particularly like

Meat? Goooood.  Potatoes? Goooood.

The superior hood is one that holds itself open with gravity.

That’s usually where I draw the line to differentiate decent cars form shit boxes.

This is a very specific critique.

[HEAVY BREATHING]

They’re great on this car, but it’s all about proportions.  That’s why some people hate donks with their ridiculously oversized wheels (I just think they’re funny)... and if you took these 10" wheels and put them on an F-150, they’d look ridiculous as well.  It’s all about proportionality.

Consider, in the meantime, the Chevy Corvette Stingray, which is also mid-engined, makes only 80 horsepower less than the current 911 Turbo, and starts at about a third of the price ($55,900).

Once that law was relaxed, it didn’t take long for the functionally superior door-mounted mirrors to replace fender mirrors entirely (some taxi drivers kept them as blind spot

If you had a pickup you could have bought that in bulk at the landscape supply for about a 10th of what you paid for it in bags!

This is the only time I’ve ever been proud enough to take a photo of my trunk-loading skills - first Costco run after moving into my first place, all on my own, after college.

I had to roll my eyes at Seattle to San Diego not being “driving distance”.

As someone who’s family has been involved in the Trucking industry since the 1980's, I take great offense to this slander.

The D22 had torsion bar suspension up front while the D40 has coils up front and leafs in the back. Plus, the D40 was on an entirely new platform that had a fully-boxed frame while the D22's was C-channel. Calling them architecturally similar holds about as much weight as saying it’s about as architecturally similar
