Finally replaced the worn slicks with something streetable and installed the Apexes on the car last week. Looks good, if I do say so myself.
Nevermind that it snowed yesterday, I finally got the 128 registered and licensed in my name properly after hibernating in a barn for the winter. Started up without need for a boost, which was a pleasant surprise.
So I got these:
Put a tank of 94 octane in the car and the Christmas tree in my gauge cluster appears to have been cut down. This the best kind of anticlimactic.
The WRX decided to get in the festive spirit and throw on all the lights in the gauge cluster. Confidence level in my car: diminished.
It is quite red.
It’s been exactly 2 years and almost 46000 km since I picked the car up with 12km on the clock. I guess my dealer put this anniversary in my car’s system. I don’t think I noticed it last year but it’s entirly possible I just didn’t drive it on 12/12/2017.
I’m generally a quiet, reserved person - my car however, is not anymore. Finally received and installed the muffler delete I had ordered back in June. It’s a little obnoxious. :D
While my lack of time to install them stays pretty much the same. If at all possible, I’ll install the new front rotors and pads on Friday night before a double header autoX weekend. If I’m feeling ambitious I’ll throw the rear swaybar on as well - I had been waiting on my axle back exhaust to arrive and then install…
Results for this past Sunday’s cone-dodging shenanigans got posted. I like PAX.
A familiar looking pony car showed up on Speedhunters today.
Stopped by the local Mazda dealer that I noticed had a couple of MX-5s on the lot to see if it would be a feasible option for me, because 6’5”. They had 2 stickshift RFs and an automatic soft top.
As most of us probably wont to do, I’m already thinking about what car to buy next, despite my WRX being less than 2 years old. My current train of thought is either a next gen WRX/STI, or a 2 car stable with a truck or SUV capable of towing/hauling (because farmer) and a more dedicated fun/summer car. Enter the…
A co-worker has been driving an S5 while his A5 is getting its A/C system replaced.
I swerved but that fucker was determined to have his death wish granted.
Formerly a land speed racer (turbo LS in that guise), the owner prepared it to handle turns over the winter after coming out and taking a few ride-alongs last year (with myself and a few others). It’s badass and it’ll be fun to watch as he comes to terms with the new setup and unfamiliar driving discipline.
We had a pretty good storm roll through yesterday; a bunch of freezing rain followed by strong winds took down some trees and power lines and was generally quite annoying. Naturally then, today I took off my snow tires and decided winter is now over. Mother Nature, take note.
18 x 8.5 Rays 57F with 255/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3s. Yes, those are real Nismo logos. As I understand it, Rays had done a production run of these for a Nismo Altima SE-R that Nissan ultimately did not produce. The wheels got sold off to retailers and these ended up on Kijiji for me to buy. I may keep the…
I washed it at local coin-op yesterday. :<
