Played the original mario bros when I was four - and this was the 80s. I think it's even more common for kids to be in front of games now.

I think this effort had way better results than the Wind Waker one - actually change it so it's Zelda saving Link, then I'll be impressed!! :)

I will reserve my outrage until I can see the cover of the biology exam prep book.

I'm much more into a general future-time dystopia than I am into anything specifically zombie related, but I am willing to agree that this may be to do with my misanthropy/hatred of life in general.

Well 60/30 chances are it is, so I think the OPs point is valid. And just because this particular individual MIGHT not be docked is no good reason we can't have a discussion about tail docking, it's a relevant point to bring up.

Yes I would agree with you that tail docking isn't the most major issue in canine welfare, but I have just done my Master's thesis on it and therefore it's my pet issue. :) I truly believe however that by letting little practises like this slip through, the attitude that we can do whatever we like to our dogs

I live in New Zealand and I have it on good authority from the people at Chelsea that they don't do that here. It is a widely known fact among relieved NZ vegans.

(Almost) Worked in 2008.

I assumed Penabler meant recreational ones... surely in a post-apocalyptic dystopia there will be plenty of people wanting to get out of their heads, and willing to trade valuable resources for the opportunity. Either that or something akin to Quietus will be my End of Days currency.

Can't it be real fur = bad, fake fur = also bad? Come on people, we can make coats out of other things...

I was given to understand that different breeds of cows were used for milk vs. beef vs. leather, but then I did go to a food slaughterhouse on a field trip for uni and they very proudly told us that the baby cows we just saw murdered would be made into Gucci handbags...

Oh man I couldn't live in the States and give up the sugar. Luckily in my part of the world, we don't do fucked up things to our sugar!!

Haha as a vegan I always get mocked (by meat eaters) for drinking Coke, and by one vegetarian friend for buying vegan friendly options at McDs. Yes, I know both corporations are evil, etc. etc. but animal products was where I drew my line - I can't and don't attempt to do everything!

http://www.cdb.org/list.htm This is a list of dogs currently tail docked - Pembrokes are on this list, and while it is possible to achieve short-tailed corgis with breeding, a great many will be docked.

this list suggests otherwise: http://www.cdb.org/list.htm

You could say animal abuse is a larger problem, but tail docking occurs on a much wider scale. So while the assumption is that puppies don't feel the pain very much, the fact is the pain wouldn't have to be all that significant to outweigh the pain resulting from animal abuse, because the latter is that much rarer.

The process is called domestication, and it hasn't happened to otters because we didn't find a good "use" for them - which is surprising because they are very smart and good at lots of things, like... swimming. You'd think some coastal tribes of people would have trained them to fetch shellfish or something.

Aha - I had a look and it's been here for ages (see date) http://www.dine.com.au/Entertainment.aspx?id=1 - Same ad but we call it Dine over here. Apparently it takes at least 8 months to refilm the part where they open a different can?

And New Zealand, we've had this ad forever! Were they trialling it on us other countries first or something?

There's a big difference between your help and the help of some rando in a public bathroom though! I wouldn't suggest giving unsolicited advice to people who don't know you and therefore don't know your background. The lady in the bathroom in #7 could well have been a child therapist or a paediatrician, but
