So true!

I have always been told that rosey cheeks were supposed to be attractive, but yeah, easy to say when you don't have to wear them, and get told "YOU'RE GOING ALL RED!!!!" whenever you are slightly embarrassed or flustered.

The article only says this is true for ladies - do us rosy women not attract males with our popped vessels? I was always told a rosy flush was sexy as it recreated the kind of flush you get in the heat of sexy-time. Perhaps whoever said that was just being nice. In a creepy way.

I agree and yet will be entering into a civil union with my partner in January. Figures.

I really hope not, as my mother is an full blown alcoholic. However, the article says it is about how much "they had thought, as a young-un, that their mother drank". I didn't realise my mother was an alcoholic/drank a whole lot till I moved out of home. So perhaps my young naivete will protect me?

Like-A-Hug: It's LIKE a hug, but honestly, nothing like an actual hug.

Did she actually say anywhere that she went to school in the US? What has that got to do with anything?

I have meat eater friends who are creeped out by it, and/or tofu.

Yeah actually, the nervous system IS where I draw my line into sentience. And even you did believe plants suffered, you still kill more plants raising animals on them rather than eating them directly. Carrot rights!! Etc. etc.

So he's blaming his childhood obesity on his local TV anchors? He did ask her to think of the children. When he did finally "turn his life around" was it because someone on TV did the same? Come off it dickhead, there are plenty of thin "role-models" on TV, always have been.

I read that sentence as "major math ninjas". Excuse me, I will resume reading now.

Thank you. It's helpful to get a few nice comments in amongst the angry defensive ones. :)

See, this is the kind of argument I actually respect: "My noms! What about my noms!" if people will admit that they can't be a vegan because they LIKE eating such and such and will not stop, well, I will leave it at that. At least you are being honest, and I can't argue with the fact that such and such is indeed

I hear a lot of vegans with the "yay! great skin!" or the "yay! losing weight" or the "yay! I used to get sick like, all the time and now I never do!" I haven't seen any of these miracles since the change in my nutrition six years ago - nothing is different at all. The only difference is that I am not a part of an

I find it bizarre that people would get all squick over it - I'm an ethical vegan so I would be all for it! But people get squick over TVP, so I dunno.

Yeah you're right about that - but I figure if I can eventually do it, so can anyone really. It just takes time.

I'm sorry, we must have different definitions of "abortion"?

I argued like this before I went vegan too. As in, right before. :) As long as we keep bringing it up then other people will eventually see the logic in it and make the change. Hopefully.

Here's a tip for all vegans "enjoying" these comments: make the experience fun with Defensive Omnivore Bingo, supplied here.

Thank you. There are 14 replies. I have never had so many. I thank fuck yours was the first I read. I haven't read them yet but yours gives me the strength to go through them. Here goes nothing...
