My mother used to say this about my sister. The possibility I might have a child I do not like is one of the reasons I am not interested in having kids.

I'm with you on this. I would want to hear parents giving me their "reality" over gushing any day. So sure, I can't really relate to the boundless love you feel for your child - but I can totally appreciate how they might get on your nerves sometimes, or any funny stories about how they might have dyed themselves blue.

Well perhaps "everyone" ought to exercise the critical thinking skills they honed during their master's instead of taking the findings of research as fact without questioning it.

I really think there could be something to that though - IQ is like a muscle, use it or lose it. The personality types that don't seek a challenge aren't going to stretch themselves and use their problem-solving minds, learn a language or communicate an idea, and therefore their brain may become less capable of such

So say the grad students! :)

Did anyone else quite clearly hear "I don't know" after "How come?"?

And just because the OP waited till 19 or 20 doesn't mean their IQ didn't take a hit either.

I've often found women in Asian advertising a wee bit Uncanny Valley. Now I know why!

"Good cus it looks like you're making out with my boyfriend" HA!

Well I started when I was 16 (much to the chagrin of my own mother) and I almost have my Master's, so this defo isn't true for everyone. There's also probably something to do with the fact that people who inherently aren't motivated academically, or don't know how to deal with their emotions in an adult way, or often

"In a bowl, in a BOWL" gotta love Savage - you guys must've heard of him in the states too?

Uh, she said Mum. Not Mom. :P

Smells like bleach, tastes like baking soda - not exactly "gross" but not really on the edible scale for me either...

I found out all about sex very young, I don't know how old but very young reading age, five or six. I found and read a book that explained the whole thing at a family friend's house. It's possible it was subtly left for me to find. I never had the sex talk with my parents, I think when I was a little bit older my

That's a really good point.

I agree, I can't for the life of me see how a relationship would interfere with my study, friendships or career unless I let it. I have been in the unusual situation of maintaining a very long term relationship throughout my twenties and in that time I have pursued my own goals and maintained friendships throughout

Actually I just realised I did go to the doctor about my eyes last year - but a doctor doctor, not an optometrist. I was just picturing someone with perfectly good eye sight rocking up to Specsavers to have their perfectly fine eyes looked at.

I never get check ups - I otherwise have no problems with my eyes, so why would I do that? Once I get to holding things at arms length to read then I'll go, but why go before there is a problem?

Perhaps that's why he's complaining: "Well, first I had to be born by C-section because of my big-ass head, my brachycephalic face is stopping me from breathing properly, my tail is ingrowing into my butt, and when I get old enough to do the nasty, I won't even be able to do it properly!!!"
