Well obviously not. I haven't even really been THAT careful with mine and they are fine. Others have recommended my comment as well, so I'm obviously not alone.

I get what you're saying. In this case, this review reads a lot like those I've read over the years about SC games that come from MGS fans. Often the complaints are more about what the game (and at this point, series) aren't instead of what they are.
No, but if someone doesn't like a series or game genre, then why not have someone else that is review it. Owen's the sports guy here, so having Mike review NBA 2K14 instead of him (assuming he isn't a sports gamer) would likely result in a review complaining about things that sports gamers like.
The message was only botched because they weren't ready to talk about it yet. Leaks and a singleminded media forced them to prematurely. The stupid leaks screwed this up like they tend to screw up just about everything in every industry ...
MS charges me to play mp online on their servers. With that I get other benefits, like the ones you mentioned. If I didn't play mp, then I wouldn't have those services and thus would have a complaint. But it's a game system first and foremost for me so I do play games online. I don't see it was paying for anything…
You see that same stand used to be made by the PS faithful about paying for MP. All you did was shift the subject, which just proves my point exactly. Thank you!

Your understanding of the situation is limited and ill-informed. The only way MS ruined Rare was thinking that they were talented and focused enough to not need a guiding hand like Nintendo gave them for years and years.
