I, too, lean more toward the "inspired by" reading of things. There's something odd about how much the game looks and sounds like Super Mario World that I'm skeptical that making it so very Mario-like in its look wasn't also intended to grab eyeballs and maybe even confuse some customers. But maybe it was just an

Auto-Battle is dangerous; it stays on after battle so if you end a battle with it on the first turn of your next battle will be nothing but ordinary attacks.

Don't worry, the game also has "tutorial quests", which are in that little box where the demo actually put those fetch quests (there are no such quests in the full game, so every quest in that quest log is a "tutorial quest"). There it will tell you stuff like "turn up the speed in battle" for something simple like a

You were not alone my friend. I just fired it up to check this.

Press right on the D-pad to speed up battle (you don't have to hold it). You can increase the speed at least twice; can't remember if there was a third degree of fast-forward. To slow it back down you press left.

I, on the other hand, managed to COMPLETELY miss the shoulder-buttons-for-brave-and-default shortcuts when

Look at the metal in the lower right of the frames.

Get it. Plenty of depth, lots of mods, best city building game made to date, imo. I still play it for a couple weeks straight about once every year since it came out.

It's an outstanding city building game that has held up very well. It has a large amount of nice mods available as well.

Thank you, I'm happy I'm not the only person who was bothered but this articles inapropriate usage of the English language...

This time Kotaku has gone too far accusing the guy for ripping art.
I'm not a pixel artist, but to make a character consisting of only a dozen pixels looks totally different from others? C'mon

A quick Google search shows that a lot of other MMOs struggle to mantain a few hundred thousand players. I bet they would kill for half that number.

This leads me to two questions that maybe someone can answer. I am not a fan of MMOs. I have dabbled in a few and never really committed to any, so I'm pretty ignorant.

Haven't played in awhile but I gotta admit, the new expansion with the new character models look awesome

It's not a super hard game or anything. It gets more complicated as you build bigger and bigger, but it isn't terrible. Lots of mods and cheats for it too if you get tired of vanilla.

My favorite has always been SimCity on SNES. I haven't played anything more recent than SimCity 2000, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I just came here to see if anyone else had made this point yet.

yes the art is not ripped. but its very close. I think he might actually be within legal standing to keep his game as is. also, hes like a millionaire now so..... yeah. Now think if Nintendo made games for iOS.... jeeeeeeeeeeeeez

I agree, the title of this article is factually incorrect. Ripped art means the exact image has been taken and used. Creating your own asset that looks somewhat like an existing asset (and we're talking about a pixelated pipe FFS) isn't "ripping" anything.

Well you can still have fun with f2p games. Just don't expect to actually compete with anyone, or reach any of the higher level stuff even if you dedicate years of your life to the game.

I"m having fun with my f2p games but they've locked me out of the best weapons and armor, it's much harder for me to level up or get

ESO you have to buy the game in addition to paying a subscription. Call of Duty you just buy the game and that is it. Planetside 2 (aside from being owned by SOE) is F2P so you pay no upfront cost but there is more of a grind associated with it but allows for shortcuts with microtransactions. From what I understand it

Yeah, but I've walked into a shop that had one for sale, and they were only asking $10k.
