Modern military aircraft have weapons that destroy their targets at a range of miles and fly faster than the speed of sound. Why do the fighter planes always get within grappling range of the kaiju?

That would miss the entire point of the book in a way that would be 100% on brand for J.J. Abrams.

There’s already a perfectly good Lorax adaptation. It’s from 1972. It is 25 minutes, which, frankly, is probably a little too long for the story and includes a bit of filler. Same with the Grinch. “Live Action” or CG version (sponsored by an automobile maker, for the love of the Brown Barbaloots!) are a dumb idea. A

It’s going to be difficult to associate J.J. Abrams with a movie that goes anywhere.

Oh look, I guess I finally had that stroke.

With the Prime Universe back up and kicking on CBS Access (Paramount+, whatever) I don’t think there’s much need for the Kelvin continuity. Abrams’ Star Trek was essentially a ‘90s/’00s-type reboot, designed to appeal to non-fans looking for a Mission: Impossible-type summer tentpole, and that kind of movie has been

No kidding, their willingness to “rebel” against basic empathy is disheartening, but sadly not terribly surprising.

Please don’t post anything from We Got This Covered. Far, far too often their “stories” are just made up bullshit to pander to incel gamergaters who desperately want the everything that site says about the MCU canceling Black Panther 2 and Captain Marvel 2.

Yes, it was a joke. It’s from the movie Contact. Calm down. There was supposed to be a picture of Drumlin with it but goddamn Kinja.

Really? You’re quoting David Drumlin, the fictional scientist in Contact without attribution? From a book written by a highly respected scientist (Carl Sagan) who was a strong proponent of both humanism and SETI.

substituting the key for a screwdriver.

I think it’s better-served by the television format in almost every way, and special effects are no longer the bottleneck that they used to be. Theatrical films honestly aren’t as “special” as they used to be, and I’m fine if Trek never returns to that medium.

This article is frustratingly unclear on just how Apple would enforce this “rule.”
