Bringing back Palpatine from the dead makes Anakin’s sacrifice to kill him moot. As reverent and beholden to the past mythology JJ is, this one change shows he has no idea what his fanfiction desires do to the previous text. He’s a hack, the perfect distillation of Hollywood nepotism rewarding mediocrity.

What the fuck is up with that dagger? how does it only match the wreckage of the death star II from a certain angle? It was implied to be ancient. So palpatine knew what woudl happen to him? That doesn’t work....

The location of these wayfinders was implied to be long lost and written in the sacred jedi texts - so how

Stars aren’t twinkly in vacuum. They twinkle because of the shifting density of the air we view them through, the same reason things look ripply when seen through water. Seen from the Moon’s surface, with no intervening atmosphere, the stars’ light would be steady and unwavering.

Admittedly, I have only read the spoilers, but the whole thing sounds like eight year-old me wrote it while playing with my Kenner action figures after seeing RotJ in 1983.

“And then Emperor comes back! And he had a granddaughter whose good, but Han and Leia’s son was evil. And there are like a hundred thousand star

My favorite analogy thus far... this movie is like ordering one of those mega burritos that’s not quite a food challenge but still enough food for four people to share, and you’re sooo excited because you’re crazy hungry and you love burritos, but about halfway through you realize it’s filled with Subway “chicken” and

So it’s a J.J. Abrams film: Generally very enjoyable in the moment, but if you stop to think about anything, little-to-none of it stands up to scrutiny. Ultimately, (not to open this can of worms again) it’s “just” a theme park ride. Given the level of excitement that surrounded Galaxy’s Edge though, maybe that really

I appreciate the well-written response, as I just kinda expected the usual internet hate. That said, I saw TLJ three times in theaters, and I found it to be masterfully planned from beginning to end. Every choice had consequences. Ever character had an impact on something. Even small decisions at the start sent

Yeah that made me laugh. TLJ is probably my second favorite SW film, and that’s only because Rogue One was just so damn good.

(scratches note on pad)

Except I’m not saying the movie is bad. I’m not saying anything about the actors ability in the movie, the plot, anything.

I mean, Abrams is a hack so of course he'll throw shade at the best Star Wars movie since 1981.

it was Guggenheim (sp?) that tweeted that they were one and the same.

He absolutely is the same character. It was confirmed by someone from behind the scenes but I can't find the tweet now.

It’s not meant to be the same Clark as Routh played in Superman Returns

There is already a Skywalker in the story, Kylo Ren. To make Rey’s parentage a mystery and telling us the mystery just doesn’t work the way it did in Empire when we weren’t expecting any kind of reveal. It’s a thoughtless mystery by a guy who makes thoughtless mysteries.

Do park rangers in the national park system have a union?

Apparently you can include moon size explosions in that assessment as well.

J.J. Abrams promised The Rise of Skywalker will shed more light on Finn and Poe’s mysterious pasts

Will Crisis also reveal Jon Cryer as Lenny Luthor from Superman IV: The Quest for a Script?

Here’s the thing, though: you want the lines to be actually ‘painted’ over the surface of the ground and not just superimposed on the flat windshield. The lasers will actually highlight the contours of the terrain, which I think would be really helpful, too.
