You can also make a friends list with everyone you want to hear from, pages included, and bookmark that. It appears to show their posts from most to least recent, with nothing blocked by the algorithm. If you add a new friend or page you want to show up you have to add them to the list too.

On my phone I look at Facebook with the web browser instead of the app, and have it bookmarked as https://m.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr. (I still have the app set up so I can share from other apps, but I have notifications disabled. I look when I want to look.)

Ah, so that’s probably why the comments have been broken on some of these sites for me. At least some of the time. (On Jezebel, for example, if I click through to a reply to one of my comments via my notifications page the formatting is broken, but if I click the story link the formatting is fine.)
