I’ve rejected the suggestions when I know the route, and my fellow commuter’s habits, well enough to know the detour won’t really save me as much as it claims, only to have it switch on its own anyway later on.

I’ve had it do this. It has switched to directing me to a detour I had already rejected when it suggested it maybe five minutes prior, or after I’d manually (literally with my finger) selected the route I want.

Not half as annoying as it would be if it warned you about traffic along every route you might decide to take in the next X minutes.
