If I had the choice between cop and landscaper, I would choose cop every time.
If I had the choice between cop and landscaper, I would choose cop every time.
One of my friends mentioned that the earth is roughly spherical. That man was running right at the cop, hoping to take him from behind!
How in the hell is anyone's life in danger if someone is running the fuck away from you?
Am I crazy? Is this the fucking Twilight Zone? How are people actually able to rationalize this shit to themselves and try to put a neutral spin on it, as if there are *~*two-sides*~* to this story?
Like pepper spray cop, or the cop that burned the baby with a flash grenade. Those guys must have been scared shitless.
Point-by-point:
No, running from police is no longer an acceptable reason for shooting a suspect.
No one gets the death penalty for "resisting arrest". The MOST you can get is a year in jail and a $2500 fine. It is not a human right to execute people for resisting arrest.
The guy was running AWAY, not toward him. Sorry, this isn't Ferguson. That excuse isn't going to work this time.
Oh and JUST incase you think…
But being a cop is objectively safer. You've just been given the evidence. To the extent that policing is dangerous, it's because cops can't drive for shit.
And since some willfully ignorant dipshit is bound to yell that they don't believe you (because they don't want to) here's a source they can deliberately not read:
so what's the excuse for him planting a taser? claiming he performed CPR when he didn't? Or are these all holdovers from the fear he was feeling?
This is idiotic. Your point "you don't run away from law enforcement, period" is indicative of the PROBLEM IN THE FIRST GOD DAMN PLACE - that an unarmed man fleeing from a police officer in an empty lot where there is absolutely no threat whatsoever to the police officer, gets murdered in cold blood.
His Gundam was just outside of the frame.
The SCOTUS ruled that a police officer can only shoot a fleeing suspect if the said suspect is armed and pose immediate danger to the general public.
So no. Just because you are running, doesn't mean the cops can shoot. Otherwise, shows like "Cops" would be very different. I mean why bother running through hedges when…
I feel like there's a lot in the time before the recording started that could add to this story.
I'm a structural ironworker, I'm way more likely to be killed on the job than any leo is yet somehow I manage to not kill any brown people in the course of my day to day activities. If I can do it you can too police officers of America.
Holy Fuck you're right. Maybe he was running towards a loaded cannon. Better put 8 rounds in him just be sure.
Fuck you, fuck your brother and fuck anyone else who keeps repeating this shit about how "the cop feared for his life."
Your dad was wrong. Most all LEO's are bad because they turn a blind eye to the truly bad LEO's or cover for them.
Because I know that someone in the comments will talk about how dangerous it is to be a police officer, just wanting to come home alive, etc.
It is more dangerous to be employed as a landscaper in America than it is to be employed as police officer. This is a fact that is true and is verifiable.
How did she get to Hawaii? SHE FLEW THERE.
