I looked up Michelle’s speech writer as soon as the speech was over, not surprised she also wrote the speech Melania ripped off. She really is an amazing wordsmith.

Her speech writer is Sarah Hurwitz, and she worked on the speech that Melania ripped off. She and Michelle both went into that speech with a chip on their shoulder.

My great aunt, my Big Mama, she would have been 99 by Nov 8, and she would be so proud today. So would my great-aunt Dottie, and I know my two living great-aunts will be celebrating for them tonight. Hell, I'm celebrating for them tonight!

Two of my great aunts are still alive to see this, I wish the other two were. next time I see them I can't wait to talk to them about this.

It added a layer of authenticity to her words, it let us know that she really believed what she was saying, that it meant as much to her as it did to the audience. A beautifully crafted speech, and a beautiful delivery.

You could hear her voice waver at a few of the big lines and you could see her eyes starting to gloss over as the tears started building up towards the end, which, to me, only highlighted how heartfelt and personal this speech really was for her. An incredible speech by an incredible woman.
