Not to mention Star Wars, Care Bears, the Atari, Pound Puppies, etc. Shortly after that was M.A.S.K. (1985). I don't see how you can say that the toys of that era sucked when toy companies are still making those same toys, only with a newer look.

1984 was awesome for toys. 1st year of Transformers. GI Joe, He-Man, etc.
But there was nothing about the girls’ entertainment of the ‘80s that inspired or deserved devotion like the boys’ entertainment did.

As much as the whole UK nanny state thing gets annoying here, reading some of these stories makes me glad we have it. Don't get me wrong we still have poverty, but at least you have the comfort of knowing you generally won't be homeless unless you choose to be so, you never have to worry about not getting medical help…
