No you missed a big point. Diversity is not and should not be a plot point. It should be just there. There is a big difference between shoe honing and diversity and this is clearly no shoe horning. It should not be the the character is about being black, gay, or whatever, it should be that they just happen to be

You’re fixating on the wrong points, but you’re almost there—while yes, it is dumb to simlply try and use gender swapping as a story element, these games are more than just stories. They’re things you sit with for hours, and days on end, so they need to be diverse, and simply hoping for diversity isn’t going to turn

I think you missed the point. Why does “straight white male” HAVE to be the default? You ask why they would change something they came up with, well, because if the only reason they came up with it that way is because it’s subconsciously the default, then what's the problem with thinking about other directions you can

I mean, we’re not talking about creating characters and then gender-swapping them. We’re talking about a preproduction process where the writers might say something like “alright, and then Nate and Sam go into this old man’s house” and then someone says “what if it’s a woman?” and everyone’s like “hey yeah.” Maybe

As a concept artist, I think asking that question consistently is really empowering, actually, as long as it’s responded to appropriately. It’s not a “can we fit a female/nonbinary/minority into this character?” sort of thing, it should be moreso “is this character better as something other than a while, straight

A lot of it is indoctrinated into young men. While we should expect people to move past their programming, some people simply aren’t capable of doing that. As a fairly open minded male I still have to stop myself often and question if something I was about to say is how I feel or how I’m expected to feel.

Different stories will resonate with different people, of course, but to me the idea of Nathan and Elena having a precocious daughter who wants to be just like her dad is way more interesting than any sort of father/son relationship they could have done.

I was going to mention this. Blizzard never really has that much trouble with adding content. They fully support the games they release with plenty of DLC free or paid.

I feel like the one thing you can’t question about Blizzard is how long will they support a game. Diablo 3 released 4 years ago, it’s expansion 2 years ago, and it’s still getting major updates. They treat all their games like this.

They even recently patched Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3.

“ As a shooter its dumbed down and very very casual, the lack of depth is what made me realize its a mediocre game.”

As a longtime TF2 player, OW scratches a gameplay itch that hasn’t really been catered to at all since TF2's release. It hits the right notes, adds some new ones, and does so in appealing fashion. S’all I can say about it, but I’m gonna be on it as long as Blizzard is supporting and doesn’t screw it up.

This is what they do, they assign games to people, and unassigned games don’t get much attention.

The main reason I’ve been playing Heroes of the Storm again is just so I can play Tracer. Monday can’t come soon enough!

I dunno about you, but Battleborn’s been out for what? Two? Three weeks? I really haven’t cared.

The new character will cost 47,500 credits unless you have a hero key from the Season Pass, so... stop buying loot packs. Right now.

People like it, so I guess yeah, you are missing something.

I haven’t played it yet, but PLEASE tell me there’s some easter eggs for THIS timeless gem:

I like that when anytime someone uses SJW in a derogatory manor, you know right off the bat what kind of person they are and can ignore everything else they say about whatever it is they’re bitching about.

Now why on earth would you merge WoW with Insomniac’s biggest mistake?
