Aha! Maybe try taking your own (moisturising) soap? Are you allowed to wear gloves at work? When I had cracked hands I wasn't allowed to work with food without wearing latex gloves and my hands healed up nicely underneath them because I wasn't washing them so much.

Okay, I have a million suggestions and questions; I hope some of them are useful!

I agree with you, though my evidence is purely anecdotal. My ex lost control during an argument, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his dad around 20 times, in the head (!!!) and the arm. He (the ex) was a very, very angry man, with extremely deep resentment issues towards any kind of authority figures (parents,

I meant Amber Tamblyn but if Brenda Fricker is the pigeon lady, she was definitely a style icon for me as a child.

Ehhhhhh, not really.

SAME. I like it on her though.

I also get a lot of "oh, you're a feminist? If you want to equal to men, then you won't mind if I hit you! AHAHA GOT YOU THERE!"

No, that's not why it's a problem. Benevolent sexism is a problem because it reinforces negative stereotypes, like if women are 'supposed' to be weaker, then it follows that men are 'supposed' to be stronger. That harms everyone, including men who can't or don't want to live up to societal expectations of masculinity,

I think cis women have cis privilege, white women have white privilege, abled women have abled privilege, etc etc. I think there's a lot of misinformation on both sides of the fence, and I personally believe that almost all of the stuff that MRAs bring up as female privilege is actually benevolent sexism, or

I think at this point I've had so many threats that they're more tiring than anything else. I'm amazed when other people (like you) have the patience and grace to even respond to people like that.

I'm not sure there's any point engaging with someone who thinks threatening to rape and firebomb someone is an appropriate way to respond to that person expressing a desire for equal pay and respect, but I do really appreciate you trying. Thanks :)

YES. It's bizarre!

I co-mod a fairly popular blog on Tumblr about male privilege, and have received countless rape and death threats as a result. The founder of the blog was driven off Tumblr completely when a group of detractors doxxed her, posting not only her full name, address, and other details, but pictures of the outside of her

My friend reckons his old car was haunted because every morning the seat had reclined by itself. He thought the (dead) previous owner didn't know he was dead, and was sleeping in the car at night.

Oh god. I had dermotillomania (and other problems with self-harm), and when I told my doctor the desire to pick/cut was so great that it was making me feel like my arms were glowing, he side-eyed me and said "Well, that's just in your head."

In the weeks following each of my attacks, I was incredibly sensitive to the word rape. I've had flashbacks and panic attacks from seeing someone in my feed jokingly say they got 'facebook raped' (which has now of course become 'fraped', which isn't really any better for people in the acute stage of PTSD tbh.) It made

It's amazing, isn't it? I found it on Tumblr, sadly unattributed. A google image search suggests it's by Shivana Sookdeo and oh my god you can buy it here!! I think I know what I want for my birthday!!

Nah. I don't see it either. But I've never seen him in motion or heard his voice, so maybe that's a factor?
