Civil engineer here.  I’m often out inspecting or observing installs.  Contractors are your friend and project partner.

I love answering RFIs and dealing with contractors and I’m often hands off with means and methods.  But they’re the voice that I respect the most.  They build it and have done it a bunch of times before.  Any engineer who dismisses the voice and concern let alone the entire field of being a tradesman is a dick head…
